Chad Oliver | President

Chad Oliver

Chad Oliver is the Chief Communication Officer for the A-rated Collier County Public Schools (CCPS). He serves as a member of the Superintendent’s Senior Leadership in support of initiatives for approximately 50,000 students and nearly 7,000 employees within CCPS. The award-winning CCPS Office of Communications and Community Engagement is responsible for districtwide internal and external mass communication, including media relations, public records requests, graphic design, website design/support, social media support, video production, and engagement with local businesses and non-profits. Mr. Oliver graduated from the University of Georgia with degrees in Broadcast News and Political Science.  Before joining CCPS in 2018, he was a familiar face in the southwest Florida media market.  Chad spent 14 years anchoring and reporting for WBBH-TV NBC2 and WZVN-TV ABC7, winning multiple Emmy® Awards.  Chad and his wife, Lori, live in Naples, FL, and Chad is proud to serve on the Board of Directors for SUNSPRA. Renée Burke, MJE | Executive Director

Renee Burke - Executive Director

Renée Burke, MJE, works as an education consultant. She recently retired from Orange County Public Schools with 30.5 years of service. She was the Assistant Director of Media Relations and specialized in media promotions for the Division of Learning. Renée earned her master’s degree in Journalism and Creative Media from the University of Alabama. Previously, she taught at William R. Boone HS (Orlando, FL) for 22.5 years. Renée is a nationally certified master journalism educator, JEA's 2015 H.L. Hall Yearbook Adviser of the Year, and served as the JEA state director for 14 years.  She was also the 2012 Orange County Public Schools District Teacher of the Year, 2011 Florida Scholastic Press Association Journalism Teacher of the Year and Gold Medallion recipient, and a 2011 Gold Key recipient from Columbia Scholastic Press Association.  She served as the Legend yearbook and Hi-Lights newspaper adviser for 20 and 21 years, respectively. Both publications earned CSPA Crown awards and National Scholastic Press Association Pacemakers.

Katherine currently serves as the Communications Officer and PIO for Seminole County Public Schools. She has a bachelor's degree in Organizational Communication from the University of Michigan and her master's degree in Strategic Communication and Public Relations from Purdue University. She is accredited in public relations and earned her designation as a Certified Public Relations Counselor through the Florida Public Relations Association.

Katherine is passionate about public education and elevating the communications profession. She enjoys serving as a mentor and presenter in various capacities both locally and nationally, and is actively involved in the Florida Public Relations Association and serves on the Board of Directors for the Counselor’s Network. 

In her free time, she loves to travel, read, and spend time with her family.

Sean Cooley | VP of Marketing and Outreach

Sean Cooley

Mr. Sean Cooley is the Chief Strategic Communications & Engagement Officer for The School District of Palm Beach County, one of the nation’s largest school systems. His career in public education began as a paraprofessional, and he now serves as the chief spokesperson and a senior adviser to the Superintendent. In this role, Mr. Cooley leads a team of 36 professionals, directing integrated strategy for media, marketing, and public engagement. He manages communications for high-sensitivity issues and works daily with local and national media outlets. As a parent of children in District schools, he has a deep personal commitment to the organization's mission.

A seasoned government and non-profit executive, Mr. Cooley previously served as the Chief Communications & Public Policy Officer for the South Florida Water Management District. He excelled at uniting diverse stakeholders with competing interests, garnering significant bipartisan support for Everglades restoration at the local, state, and federal levels. He is most proud of his role in breaking ground on the historic Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) Reservoir--the crown jewel of Everglades restoration. His career also includes communications leadership roles with the National Audubon Society, the Florida Department of Financial Services, the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, and the Florida Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Cooley earned a Master of Science in Communications from Florida State University and is a graduate of Leadership Palm Beach County.

 

Craig Maniglia | VP of Sponsorship & Outreach

Craig Maniglia

Craig Maniglia has served as Sarasota County Schools' Director of Communications & Government Affairs since May 2020. In this role, he is a member of the Superintendent's Cabinet, overseeing the planning, development, and implementation of the district's internal and external communications, public relations, governmental affairs, and outreach programs.

Before joining Sarasota County Schools, Mr. Maniglia led internal communication strategies for Fairfax County Public Schools in Falls Church, Virginia, within the Department of Human Resources. 
His extensive career includes significant roles at MVI Post, a nationally recognized media production facility in Arlington, Virginia. There, he held various positions in production, creative, operations, and management, ultimately serving as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

Throughout his career, Mr. Maniglia has received numerous honors, including Emmy and Telly awards, NSPRA Golden and Excellence awards, and recognition by Advertising Age as Marketer of the Year. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from George Mason University and is an active member of the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) and the Sunshine State School Public Relations Association (SUNSPRA).
 

Catherine Card | Secretary

Catherine Card - Secretary

Catherine Card serves as the Public Information Officer for the Okaloosa County School District, where she leads communications, media relations, and public engagement initiatives on behalf of one of Florida’s top-performing school districts.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, and raised in the South, Catherine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development and Family Studies from Auburn University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of West Florida.

Her career in public service began with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, where she served as the Community Relations Coordinator, overseeing public awareness campaigns, media outreach, social media, and multimedia production to communicate key initiatives. Catherine later broadened her experience internationally, spending two years in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, supporting the U.S. State Department at the U.S. Embassy’s Community Liaison Office. Upon returning to Florida, she became the Public Information Manager for the City of Destin, further strengthening her expertise in government communications and community relations.

With more than 20 years of experience in communications, media relations, and crisis communication, Catherine has also served as an adjunct professor at Northwest Florida State College. She remains deeply involved in the local community, volunteering with multiple nonprofits, serving as PTO President at Bluewater Elementary, and sitting on the School Advisory Councils for both Ruckel Middle School and Niceville High School. In addition, she mentors students through the Take Stock in Children program, helping guide them toward college and career success, and currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for the Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce.

Catherine is married to Michael Card, retired Administration Bureau Chief with the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. Together, they are proud parents of four children and grandparents of two.

Kevin Christian APR, CPRC | Treasurer

Kevin Christian APR, CPRC | Treasurer

Kevin Christian has strategically communicated critical information for Marion County Public Schools since 2001. During the last 21 years, he has publicly addressed topics with parents, stakeholders, employees, students, and others ranging from student achievement and school grades to natural disasters, hurricane days, student tragedies, employee arrests, and a school shooting. Kevin’s attention to detail and strategic approach to sharing information has earned the district more than 100 local, state, and national honors and led to Kevin being named a local “Communicator of the Year” and “Doris Fleischman Unsung Hero Award” from the Florida Public Relations Association. Kevin has also earned numerous national honors, including Golden Achievement Awards from the National School Public Relations Association.

Kevin previously served as SUNSPRA President for five years (2014-2019), sustaining the organization through key challenges and turnover.

Kevin earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications from Lee University and holds a Master’s in Journalism from the University of Miami. He also gained his Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) in 2012 and holds CPRC status (Certified Public Relations Counselor), the highest credential possible in the Public Relations industry.

Currently, he serves as the Director of Public Relations for the district which includes media relations and media productions.

Maggie Dromerhauser | Graphic Design and Website

Maggie Dromhauser

Maggie Dromerhauser has held diverse marketing roles, honing expertise in brand management, content creation, and community outreach since 2010. For the past five years, Maggie has served as the Public Information and Community Relations Specialist for the Martin County School District. In this role, she manages the District’s website and communication platform, oversees the customer service platform, designs all graphics for social media and web distribution, and handles public records requests. Beyond these responsibilities, Maggie provides executive support to the Chief of Staff, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the Public Information Department.
