The Referendum Playbook is a professional development session designed for public school communicators and leaders navigating potential referendums. This session will equip participants with a strategic approach based in research and data to define the need, assess community sentiment, and understand stakeholder perspectives. Attendees will learn how to clearly and ethically inform, not advocate by crafting transparent, fact-based messages that build trust and credibility. The session also explores how to leverage community support and partnerships when direct advocacy is not permitted, ensuring that accurate information, shared values, and authentic voices carry the message forward. Through real-world examples from a national award- winning campaign, participants will leave with the information needed to tackle the topic of referendums in their community.
